![]() Maybe not as much as you guys but still I am pretty knowledgeable. This makes no sense at all.Īnd I want to confirm that I know more then the average person does about PC. I am laughing right now but seriously I am getting very upset. So (Edited out for language) is going on lol. I had to put it back in her PC so I put card A back into my computer and wham now its working fine. I tried my daughters gtx 470 and it worked fine. It didnt so I placed card B in there and I have been working with it for the last 2 days. So I took card B out and tried t o get it to work with just card A. After I reinstalled windows 7 both cards again still didnt work. ![]() ![]() I had both cards installed and I started having issues with adjusting fan speed. :P) and you would end up missing the main issue/fix. I'd get some rest and get better before you try and troubleshoot this issue as it can take a toll mentally and physically (now I sound like a Dr. ![]() Do you get any BSODs and if you did post the BCCodes and you said they overheat? You gotta get a little more specific so we can see where the issue is coming from. Very rare that both cards go bad but its possible. If you are experiencing fan speed control issues with MSI Afterburner or the feature is grayed out, you need to enable fan speed in the software settings, close all graphics-intensive processes already running, update the graphics drivers, and download the most recent version of the Afterburner. So did you individually put each GTX 480SC in the PCI-E slot where you always put them and test them one by one than put the GTX 470 and it worked no problem (Fan RPM readings and Full Control)?.sorry I caught your remark earlier about the Bios and did the Bios match up from each of the 480s? Also are there any fan readings (RPM) from any of the 480s you can't control? If you're having any issues always do one card at a time or use one than the other one for a few days if not a week each to be sure. Hope I can help you out with this matter. why cant i control my gtx 480 whats the big difference. My 2 gtx 480s arnt working but I put my daughters gtx470 evga into my computer and it works fine. I have not had good experiences with Nvidia tools and Precision X seems geared towards the 600 series, I don't own a single MSI product but I prefer Afterburner for oc'ing my cards. If that fails I would reinstall windows and start over from the beginning "Nice and Clean". If you get errors with servers kicking you out while gaming with "disallowed driver" or other errors, open afterburner, click on the small icon by the clock as shown, this willl open Rivatuner (part of afterburner)Ĭlick the bar to turn Stealth Mode ON (it's off by default) it seems like Punkbuster thinks that Afterburner's overlay is some sort of a hack on some systems. you can move the boxes to set the fan to speed up at a lower temp ( don't forget to hit apply when done ) In order to setup a dynamic fan profile click on the user define button, then settings and then the fan tab. If you click the "AUTO" button as seen below you should have manual control of the slider, don't forget to hit apply when done, your fans will then be locked at that speed as long as afterburner is open so you should also click on the apply overclock at startup in the lower left under profile, then it will go to that speed whenever you start your rig. Download and install the latest version of Afterburner from here įirst I would remove all the programs, Afterburner, Precision X, and NVidia Tools ( might not hurt to run driver sweeper and reinstall the video drivers too ).
